Significant progress made on Adur & Worthing’s Full Fibre future

7 July 2021: The rollout of district-wide Full Fibre networks in Adur & Worthing has taken a major leap forward thanks to an agreement between CityFibre, the UK’s largest independent Full Fibre platform, and Worthing Homes.

CityFibre is investing £25m to bring the fastest, most reliable digital connectivity to the area and this new partnership with Worthing Homes means residents living in properties owned and managed by the provider will be among the first to access Full Fibre broadband connectivity capable of gigabit speeds.

CityFibre has continued to make swift progress on the district-wide rollout with this new partnership ensuring the project can continue to go ahead smoothly and reach social housing sites as well as other homes and businesses in the area.

Broadband users in Goring, Tarring and Salvington are now among the first to access Full Fibre services, with plans to progress build towards Broadwater in the latter half of this year. Once the entire build has been completed in 2023, almost every home and business in Adur & Worthing will have access to Full Fibre broadband.

Full Fibre networks are recognised as the digital infrastructure of the future for both homes and businesses. With near unlimited bandwidth, Full Fibre will ensure households can utilise the latest smart home technology, stream entertainment across multiple devices and make it easier to work from home, with virtually no buffering or lagging.

Speaking of this latest milestone, Adrian Smith, CityFibre’s City Manager for Adur & Worthing, said: “Over the last year, our broadband connections have truly been a lifeline as we adapt to new ways of working, socialising and entertaining. In Adur & Worthing, services will be available from an increasing range of broadband providers. Zen Internet, TalkTalk and No One, the residential offering from Trunk Broadband, are now providing broadband services to the first residents connected to the new CityFibre network. Giganet and other internet service providers (ISPs) are set to join the network soon, giving customers a choice of providers. CCN Communications Ltd is delivering the project on CityFibre’s behalf. The team is working closely with CityFibre, Adur & Worthing Council and West Sussex County Council to manage any disruption and using modern build techniques to ensure a fast and efficient rollout.
