With over 35 years of communications infrastructure experience, Greg has founded and helped grow fibre companies across five European countries. Part of the founding team of Esat Telecom in Ireland which later sold to BT for over €1bn, Greg went on to help found Versatel Telecom NV, joining the executive team as President and COO. Operating across Holland, Belgium and Germany, Versatel established one of the region’s largest fibre-based infrastructures and was sold for over €2bn in 2002.
Greg founded the carrier-neutral wholesale network CityFibre in January 2011. The company has since raised over £2bn in equity and £4.9bn in debt financing. CityFibre has completed six acquisitions and is building Full Fibre infrastructure across a third of the UK market. Today CityFibre is privately owned by Antin Infrastructure Partners, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Mubadala Investment Company and Interogo Holding.
Greg has also been awarded the Charles Kao Award from the Fibre To The Home Council, recognising his huge contribution to the rollout of full fibre infrastructure across Europe.
Simon has 30 years of experience working with Telecom, Media and Technology (TMT) companies. Before joining CityFibre, Simon was a partner at Goldman Sachs where he spent 18 years in London and New York. There he held senior roles in the Investment Banking division including Global Chief Operating Officer and Vice-Chairman of EMEA as well as a number of leadership roles in the TMT banking team.
Prior to joining Goldman, Simon worked for Baring Brothers in London and Hong Kong. He is a fellow of the institute of chartered accountants, qualifying with Coopers and Lybrand. He is a graduate of Imperial College, London.
Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining CityFibre, Nick served the prior ten years as CFO at Gatwick Airport. Prior to that, he worked with Anglo American plc and with Centrica plc in a number of senior finance roles, including Director of Group M&A, Finance Director for Centrica Energy as well as Finance Director for British Gas Business.
Nick also brings more than ten years’ experience in investment banking, with the majority of that time spent specialising in the infrastructure sector. Working on acquisitions, IPOs and financing transactions in the UK and internationally, he has advised both governments and private investors.
Polly is one of the UK’s leading experts in telecoms regulation. She joins from Ofcom’s senior management team after 15 years as its General Counsel. In the role, Polly led the UK regulator’s legal group, providing advice across all policy areas. Prior to this role, Polly was Head of the EC and UK Competition Law Department at the global law firm Dentons.

Elsa is leading the end-to-end customer experience strategy across all of our verticals.
Formerly CEO of CityFibre’s wholesale business Entanet, Elsa led the management buyout of Entanet in 2014 with the backing of the highly experienced mid-market investor Mobeus Equity. She grew the business organically to £37m revenue in the period and firmly established Entanet as a multi prestigious award winning wholesale connectivity service provider in the UK. Elsa oversaw the mergers and acquisitions transaction in 2017 which made Entanet part of CityFibre Group.
With 17 years of experience in UK wholesale telecom Elsa is a well-respected leader in the industry; known for her passion in developing a customer-centric business culture and her people-focused approach to driving business performance.
Rob is Chief Strategy Officer for CityFibre, leading CityFibre’s strategy, product, business development and M&A activities. Rob is also ESG champion for CityFibre leading the responsible business strategy. He joined CityFibre in 2012 as part of the early executive team and has led the commercial development of the business, including key customer partnerships and acquisitions.
Rob has more than 20 years of experience in growing infrastructure-based telecoms, media and technology companies. These included roles as Enterprise Director and Strategy Director at Arqiva, the largest broadcast and tower infrastructure operator in the UK as well as being a NED on the board of YouView. Before that, he was in the investment banking team at Macquarie and led Corporate Development at IT provider Logicalis.
Sarah has over 20 years experience in the telecoms sector with positions at INS, Cable and Wireless and Vodafone Group. Her career has spanned a variety or roles including operations, strategy, transformation and Enterprise customer delivery. Prior to joining CityFibre, Sarah worked as a Programme Director at Vodafone with responsibility for Programme delivery across their Utilities Customer portfolio, delivering large scale national infrastructure and managed service programmes.
John is a 24-year veteran of the telecommunication and telecommunication infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining CityFibre, John was COO of London-based pan-European metro fibre operator euNetworks, managing engineering, IT, procurement, service delivery and service management across multiple countries.
John previously enjoyed a distinguished 10-year career in senior managerial positions at Level(3) Communications, ultimately as Senior Vice President of Capacity Management & Deployment. He has also held senior technical roles at BT Group, Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent.
Before joining CityFibre, Richard was Chief Information Officer for the Digicel Group, looking after the IT strategy and transformation of the entire BSS estate. He previously worked as Head of Fibre Deployment at Vodafone, where he was responsible for the business case for the UK rollout of fibre to the home.
Richard spent four years in Australia as Head of Design and Construction for the Government’s National Broadband Network deploying FTTH to Australia’s 22 Million households. He also spent seven years with BT Openreach responsible for the Ethernet product portfolio, as well as holding senior positions with Scottish Telecom and Level 3 Communications. Richard also served for 13 years with the Royal Navy.
Francis has over 30 years’ experience in HR, across manufacturing, telecoms, oil & gas engineering and construction, FMCG and logistics. Before joining CityFibre as Group HR Director at the end of 2018, he was Group HR Director with Low & Bonar PLC. Having moved from Unilever, where he was VP HR for both R&D and Foods, as well as being a member of the global HR leadership team. Francis has also held senior HR leadership roles within Motorola, Foster Wheeler and Royal Mail Group.
He has consistently deployed HR strategy and operations to successfully build and sustain diverse organisations within high growth environments.
Francis is a certified coach, NLP practitioner – and a graduate of Queen Mary, University of London.
Will has over 20 years of experience in marketing and strategic communications in the Technology, Media and Telecoms sector. Prior to joining CityFibre’s founding team in 2011, Will has consulted for a number of high-growth business start-ups in the mobile industry where he specialised in customer acquisition, proposition development and customer insight.
Since joining CityFibre he has overseen its communications, positioning and marketing development on its remarkable growth trajectory across both public and private markets. He now leads its Corporate Communications function.
Dan has joined CityFibre as Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for driving awareness and demand for services over CityFibre’s networks. He joins from the Cabinet Office where, as CMO for the UK, he led the government’s long-running and award-winning ‘GREAT’ campaign.
Prior to this, Dan spent over 12 years at BT/ EE where he performed a variety of senior leadership roles in marketing, including Consumer Marketing Director and Multi-Brand Marketing Director.
George has over 22 years of experience in the fixed line and mobile sectors. This included 15 years at Virgin Media Business where he built an industry-leading commercial team and transformed the mobile backhaul market through a £100million national backhaul deal with MBNL. He left Virgin Media Business to become UK Sales Director for Telecity Group in 2014 (now Equinix) and joined CityFibre as Sales Director in 2017. He was promoted to Chief Sales Officer in 2021.
Vicky has spent twenty-five years working in leadership roles across energy, utilities and infrastructure.
Before joining CityFibre, Vicky was Chief Digital and Information Officer at National Highways where she led the Digital Services Team, responsible for the strategy, provision and operation of England’s operational roadside technology and business information technology including data strategy, Enterprise Architecture, programme delivery, IT Operation and Cyber and Information Security.
Prior to that, Vicky was Chief Information Officer and Vice President of IT Digital Transformation in the UK and US at National Grid, where she had responsibility for network strategy, control centre operations, process excellence and customer service within electricity and gas.
