Diversity & Inclusion

Bringing people together

It’s as important to us to create an inclusive culture within CityFibre, as it is to provide a better-built broadband connection for millions of people. We think of ourselves as a part of the communities, towns and cities we work in and we proudly welcome anyone to join us.

We have opportunities for everyone, no matter your background or experience level. CityFibre’s connections transcend any bias, so join us and help diversify our team.

A Times Top 50 Employer for Women

We've been named a Times Top 50 Employer for Women; thanks to our family-first policies and commitment to gender equality.

Networks upon networks

Our Gender, LGBT+, Cultural Inclusion, Disability and Carers groups connect our people together. They champion inclusion, remove barriers, suggest best-practice and influence positive change. Our LGBT+ network has helped us achieve the stonewall accreditation – something we’re hugely proud of.

Testimonial:

"Bringing a new generation of full fibre to the UK is no small task. Infrastructure projects of this scale require a wide range of skills. By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, we are able to tap into a community of people who are highly skilled, and have all the qualities we are looking for to help deliver Britain’s full fibre future."

- Greg Mesch, Founder and CEO

How are we championing diversity at CityFibre?

Adapting to hybrid working

We are making sure everyone is equipped to work from home, providing a healthy work-life balance. We believe collaboration is key, and encourage in-person meetings as part of our agile working environment.

Supporting Mental Health

We have over 40 Mental Health First Aiders who are trained to support employees around mental health, anxiety and wellbeing at work.

Putting families first

We offer enhanced maternity leave at 26 weeks full pay, shared parental leave, adoption leave and offer flexibility to give working parents more time for what matters most.

Welcoming veterans

We’re proud to have a number of veterans within CityFibre, plus an active and growing Armed Forces Network Group.

Emma Stockton 2
"We’re Changing It Up in our team because we’re hiring based on people’s personality, as well as their skills. This means we’re a diverse team of different genders, ages and backgrounds, including someone who took a year out to care for their family. We hire people for who they are, looking at what someone can offer, rather than what's missing."

"CityFibre is a company that really does stand by what they say. We talk about inclusion because it matters, throughout our organisation we all work together to ensure we are inclusive, we treat people as equals. We’re a company that recognises and rewards performance based on achivements, not because of an individual’s sex, colour, or religion."
