Menopause friendly accreditation

Creating an inclusive workplace means recognising and supporting people through every stage of life. That's why we're proud to have achieved the Menopause Friendly Accreditation for 2025, a nationally recognised accreditation that acknowledges organisations committed to creating supportive environments for colleagues experiencing menopause.

This achievement reflects the progress we've made as a business, but more importantly, it highlights the culture we're continuing to build - one where people feel able to speak openly, access support and thrive at work.

Creating a More Supportive Workplace

The Menopause Friendly Accreditation, established by Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace, recognises employers that demonstrate high standards across culture, policies, training, engagement and the working environment.

This recognition is the result of a collective effort across CityFibre, led by our passionate colleagues and supported by our Gender Community, managers and senior leaders.

Through initiatives such as awareness campaigns, educational resources, manager guidance and regular Menopause Coffee & Chat sessions, we've worked to create an environment where conversations about menopause feel normal, supportive and free from stigma.

Turning Awareness into Action

Creating a menopause-friendly workplace isn't just about policies and resources. It's about making a meaningful difference to people's everyday experiences at work.

Louise Windsor, Co-Chair of our Gender Community, has seen first-hand how the right support can help colleagues feel more confident and in control.

"I've seen the impact in small but powerful ways, like when a colleague felt confident enough to ask for flexible working hours due to menopause symptoms. The manager responded with empathy and made adjustments that helped her feel more in control. It showed me that our policies and training are making a real difference in people's lives."

Creating a menopause-friendly culture isn't just about policies. It's about helping colleagues feel understood and supported when they need it most.

Breaking the Taboo

One of the biggest changes we've seen is a shift in how menopause is talked about across the business. Conversations that may once have felt difficult or uncomfortable are becoming more open, visible and supported.

By raising awareness, sharing resources and encouraging dialogue, we've helped create an environment where colleagues feel more confident discussing their experiences and seeking support when they need it. At the same time, our managers are increasingly equipped to respond with understanding, empathy and practical adjustments.

As conversations become more common, stigma is reduced, understanding grows and our people feel better supported throughout their menopause journey.

Looking Ahead

While we're proud of this achievement, we know there's more to do. We're committed to continuing to raise awareness, expand support and create a workplace where everyone can thrive.

Achieving the Menopause Friendly Accreditation is one example of how we're working to build an inclusive culture where people feel valued, supported and able to succeed at every stage of their career.
