Supporting our Armed Forces Community

We set high standards in how we serve our customers and support our people - including those joining us from the Armed Forces, whose experience continues to play an important role at CityFibre.

We know the move into civilian employment can feel uncertain, so we focus on making that transition as smooth and supportive as possible, helping you apply your service experience in a role where it makes a real difference.

Our commitment to you

Our Armed Forces community brings people together through shared experience, supporting ex‑forces colleagues as they step into civilian careers.

It offers a space to connect with others who know what it means to be part of something bigger, to share experiences, raise awareness for military charities, and support one another as you build the next chapter of your career.

Alongside this, we have policies in place to ensure you’re supported both professionally and personally, so you can move forward with confidence.

Armed Forces Covenant

We're proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant - a national promise to ensure fair treatment for those who serve or have served, and their families.

As a Gold Award holder in the Employer Recognition Scheme, we’ve earned the highest level for our commitment to supporting the armed forces community. This award reflects our ongoing efforts to align our policies, practices, and support with the needs of veterans, reservists, and military families.

Reservists & Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAV)

Supporting our people and backing each other sits at the heart of The CityFibre Way. If you’re already a reservist or CFAV, or thinking about becoming one, we’re here to support you.

Additional Leave

An additional 10 days’ leave for Reservist and CFAV employees to use for cadet volunteering or reservist activities.

Support

We offer support for Reservist employees during times of mobilisation and demobilisation.

Armed Forces Community

Our Armed Forces community brings veterans, reservists and CFAVs together to connect, share experiences and access peer support.

Domnhall Dodds
"The support I receive as a reservist is invaluable and was one of the key factors which attracted me to CityFibre in the first place. I feel that the skills which I have gained in the Army Reserve are really valued and recognised. The additional 10 days of paid leave means there is no pressure on me to compromise on family time."

"To meet my Reservist commitment and maintain a work-life balance, the support I receive is paramount and welcomed. The 10 days annual leave aligned to the commitment is key to me being able to fulfil my duties and helped me in my decision to join CityFibre. It ensures I am still able to spend quality time with my family around work and service."

Joe Basson
"I joined CityFibre 6 months ago after an 8-year career in the Royal Signals. The skills which I gained during my career are valued by the company and the training I've received for my role has been extensive. CityFibre invested in my future by providing me with civilian accreditations and ensured my transition into civilian life went smoothly."
