Openreach claims would leave Brunel "turning in his grave" says CityFibre CEO #
Responding to Openreach's claims that superfast broadband is "one of Britain's great engineering achievements", CityFibre CEO Greg Mesch said:
“Describing a copper-based network roll-out that leaves the UK at 35th in the world speed rankings as one of Britain’s ‘great engineering achievements’ will have Brunel turning in his grave!
"BT Openreach committed themselves to milking every last penny from their copper networks instead of backing fibre as the technology fit for the future. What is worse is that they continue to mislead millions by referring to it as ‘fibre’ and the ASA continues to permit it.
"As long as copper still connects our homes and businesses we will be consigned to a digital dark age as other countries race ahead.”
