Former BT Wholesale CEO joins growing team to help deliver Gigabit City vision

London, 17th February 2014 – CityFibre, one of the UK’s leading fibre optic infrastructure providers, has announced that Sally Davis, formerly CEO at BT Wholesale, has joined the company as a non-executive director. This follows the appointment of former Colt CEO, Peter Manning as non-executive Chairman last autumn and CityFibre’s public listing on AIM in January. This high level strategic appointment will enable CityFibre to draw on Sally Davis’ considerable experience in the TMT sector, where she has been instrumental in building both new businesses and established larger organisations. She was CEO at BT Wholesale for four years, a period of stability and growth with revenues of £4 billion. Prior to this Sally Davis held a number of senior roles at BT. She also currently holds directorships with Logitech, the peripherals developer and Telenor, the major Norwegian Telecoms operator. This expansion of the CityFibre board of directors supports the company’s growth and ambitious plans to deliver its Gigabit City vision of accessible and affordable pure fibre connectivity in regional cities and large towns throughout the UK. “CityFibre has a bold vision to enable UK cities to compete with their fastest European counterparts. It is already delivering pure fibre infrastructure into businesses and homes in prominent cities, including York and Bournemouth and has recently announced a huge investment in fibre infrastructure in Peterborough,” said Sally Davis. “CityFibre is one of a very few businesses committed to providing pure fibre connectivity as opposed to fibre-to-the-cabinet technology relying on the old copper-based network. I am delighted to be involved with a company with a vision to bring the huge benefits of ultra-fast connectivity to UK cities.” Greg Mesch, CEO at CityFibre commented: “Sally’s appointment to the CityFibre board is a further validation of our strategy, and her expertise will enable us, a relatively small, but growing business, to move forward with our Gigabit City strategy. It is beyond doubt that we are now the best-placed alternative fibre infrastructure provider. We are in discussion with city councils across the UK, who can see from evidence in other countries, just how transformational the effect of pure fibre can be; increasing productivity, enhancing public services and attracting businesses.” ENDS CityFibre Media Contact: Maggie Zaboura Zaboura Consultancy Ltd T. 02035880804 E. maggie@zaboura.com
