Fibre network in York helps prevent office relocation
Legend Club Management Systems, a major software developer and service provider for the leisure industry, has become the second business to sign up for CityFibre’s 100% full fibre Internet Leased Line service in York. The dramatic increase in broadband capacity of up to a Gigabit per second represents another key investment for Legend in R&D and customer service. It is also an important influence on the company’s decision to remain in its current premises in York instead of suffering the upheaval surrounding office relocation.
“We moved into York Business Park because we were growing and needed more office space. However, following significant growth, it didn’t take long before capacity constraints meant we were facing the prospect of relocating again in order to find the capacity and services we need to be competitive. Discovering that CityFibre’s full fibre infrastructure extended close to our office building was the key to preventing this move and staying in our current premises in York,” says Paul Simpson, Chief Operating Officer at Legend Club Management Systems.
“The CityFibre service was competitively priced and the company provided a good and responsive customer service. We are delighted to be the second business to sign up,” continues Paul Simpson.
Legend develops software and provides hosted environments for its customers in the leisure industry. Having a 100% full fibre connection serving its offices will enable the company to increase overall productivity and improve customer service.
“Gigabit speeds will enable us to transfer large amounts of data and give us real business flexibility. We are also looking forward to being able to benefit from next-generation applications and services, such as voice over IP and web conferencing,” concludes Paul Simpson.
Sean Maguire,Managing Director of Legend Club Management Systems adds, “We are fortunate to be in a position to invest in a long-term commitment to our industry, which we are very proud of. CityFibre’s new Gigabit network is a key part of that ongoing investment to ensure we serve our customers. We are delighted to be based in the City of York where the availability of such an innovative service enables a leading technology business like ours to thrive.”
CityFibre has already installed over 110km of fibre infrastructure across the City of York. Schools, council sites, police stations, CCTV locations, NHS sites are all benefiting from full fibre connectivity. Now York’s business community is benefitting from the transformational effects of Gigabit speed services. Supported by Level 3’s world-class High-Speed IP service, CityFibre’s Internet Leased Line service ensures customers receive the ultimate in business-grade connectivity.
Rob Hamlin, Director of Business Development at CityFibre commented: “Legend provides innovative, industry-leading solutions to key players in the health and fitness industry and we are delighted to have them join us as a customer. Through improving York’s connectivity, we are striving to make it an even better place for businesses to locate and it’s great that our fibre infrastructure has been able to support Legend in staying in their current premises. Gigabit speeds provide huge benefits for businesses, and we are looking forward to announcing more businesses coming on board soon.”
