Visitors at this year’s annual Dewsbury Christmas Lights Switch On will have the chance to win a Nintendo Switch thanks to the event’s lead sponsor, CityFibre, which is currently working in the town to future-proof its digital connectivity.
As the UK’s largest independent full fibre broadband platform, CityFibre has been building a new full fibre network in the town since December 2020, with the aim of providing homes and businesses with access to the fastest and most reliable technology available.
CityFibre will be holding a dedicated stall at the event, where visitors can find out more about how to register their interest in connecting their home to the network and, of course, enter the free raffle to win Nintendo’s best-selling game console, the Nintendo Switch.
Visitors to the event will also be able to enjoy a lantern parade and choir of school children from 25 local schools as part of the finale, with local musicians provided by local arts organisation, Manasamitra.
Steve Moore, City Manager at CityFibre, said: “CityFibre has been building a brand-new broadband infrastructure across Dewsbury and the wider Kirklees area since December 2020, and we’re excited to be releasing thousands of new homes shortly. This means even more residents will be able to access our network via our growing list of Internet Service Providers.
“We’re proud to sponsor this event and I’m looking forward to meeting people on the day. Please do drop by the stall to find out what we’re doing and also register for the chance to win a Nintendo Switch in time for Christmas.”
Entering the prize draw is as simple as visiting CityFibre’s stall at the event and registering for the raffle. Winners of the Nintendo Switch will be announced on the night, ahead of the switch on.
Residents interested in giving their home broadband a boost can find out more about the build and register their interest at www.cityfibre.com/dewsburylights.
