CEG: Next-generation digital connectivity helps attract new clients

CityFibre owns and operates a number of networks in the UK, including the Coventry CORE. Below is an example of how gigabit connectivity is helping businesses in Peterborough: Background The Commercial Estates Group (CEG) manages a broad spectrum of property assets throughout the UK, totalling nine million square feet. CEG has been managing Stuart House since 2013 and is currently investing over £1-million in refurbishing the property to attract companies looking to rent large floor plates. Challenge As part of CEG’s refurbishment plans for Stuart House, it recognised the importance of high quality digital connectivity as a key factor in drawing in new business as well as retaining existing customers. It wanted to market the property as having the fastest, most reliable digital infrastructure available; an important USP in the digital age. Solution CityFibre connected Stuart House to the Peterborough CORE, the city’s new pure fibre network, which will deliver ultra-fast internet connectivity at up to one gigabit per second (1000Mbps) directly into the property’s commercial tenants. With a connection in the building, tenants can now connect instantly to the Peterborough CORE with no need to wait for construction or way leave permissions. Stuart House is now equipped with state-of-the-art digital infrastructure to support the demands of customers now and into the future. CityFibre is collaborating with CEG to deliver “early bird” incentives to new and existing tenants, including discounted rentals. Tenants have a choice of internet service providers offering services over the CORE network, offering bespoke packages to suit individual business requirements. Businesses located within Stuart House will now have access to lightning fast internet speeds and enough bandwidth to support a large data-hungry workforce. Highlights include up to gigabit speeds, symmetrical upload and downloads, no peak-time slowdowns, and access to next-generation cloud and online applications. Rebecca Gregory, CEG Asset Manager, said: “We are delighted to be one of the first commercial properties connecting to the Peterborough CORE. We are currently investing over £1million in transforming Stuart House into a sleek, modern Grade A office space, and it is vital that we have Grade A, ultra-fast internet to match. By offering pure fibre connectivity to our tenants, we have a unique selling point putting us ahead of our competitors, which will help us secure large, long term business tenants.”
