CityFibre Build Process | The Full Fibre Broadband Network

Purpose-building for the data age

We believe everyone should have access to broadband that just works, now and for generations to come. That’s why at CityFibre, we have started from scratch and we're building a brand new full fibre network across the UK.

Our full fibre network will be capable of delivering broadband connections to homes and businesses, up to 25 times faster and 5 times more reliable than basic broadband connections*.

Frequently asked questions

  • We will send you a letter a week before we start building in your area. You can also register your interest and keep up-to-date about our build progress by email.

  • Once we’re done in your street, it will take several weeks to install the fibre and connect it back to our main exchange. We’ll then let you know which broadband providers are available in your area so you can enjoy revolutionary broadband. Make sure to sign up with us for progress updates.

  • We’re installing our new fibre network so that you can enjoy faster, more reliable broadband. We may need to dig up the pavement outside your home to install the new cables, street cabinets or utility poles. Watch our construction video to see how we do it.

  • We understand that street works can be disruptive, and we work closely with local councils to minimise this. Through our mandatory service update communications, our aim is to keep you and the local community informed about why we are building our network, what it means to you and the different stages of our network build.

  • The direct mails we send when your property is ready to connect, explain some of the long-term benefits that access to our full fibre network might bring to you, and advise how you can connect through a broadband provider.

If you’d prefer to be removed from our mailing list and not receive direct mails from us in the future, please complete this form. Please note that removal from our list could take up to 30 days to become effective.

  • Our engineers may knock on your door as a courtesy when they are working near your home, this is just to let you know what they are doing. They will always have a CityFibre uniform and badge and will never ask you to provide personal or banking details.
