Local wireless broadband provider to connect transmission sites to Hull’s fibre network London and Hull, March 27th 2015 Hull based wireless internet provide Purebroadband today announced it will be the first ISP to use CityFibre’s dark fibre backbone connectivity network to power its wireless mast sites throughout the city. The deal replaces Pure’s existing network solution that has been in use since its incorporation in 2008. The partnership will significantly boost internet speeds and network efficiency to thousands of businesses and homes using Pure’s services in Hull. It will also allow the company to dramatically increase its current capacity as it continues to cement itself as a viable alternative provider of broadband to Hull’s 200,000 business and residential internet users. The project is the latest step in CityFibre’s commercialisation of its Hull fibre network project. It began a 62km fibre rollout, based on its ‘Well Planned City’ design in late 2014 to deliver backhaul connectivity to mobile operators EE and Three UK, completing all city centre routes before Christmas. The network has been designed to accommodate current and future capacity requirements from the business community, public sector, mobile operators and datacentre providers. Speaking about the partnership, Joe Tandey, operations director at Purebroadband said: “More and more residents and businesses are looking for an alternative to Hull’s incumbent operator and our services are a perfect high-speed option. By upgrading our backbone with dark fibre from CityFibre, we will be able to offer an even better broadband service to our existing customers as well as accelerating our customer acquisition programme in Hull.” John Pulley, head of city sales at CityFibre added: "We're very excited by the opportunity of working with Purebroadband in Hull to enhance both the quality of service, affordability and accessibility of next generation connectivity solutions in the community. We are seeing increasing interest from Service Providers to accessing businesses and consumers in Hull. CityFibre now provides a long overdue and credible infrastructure alternative in the local market, increasing competition and driving better services for all customers".
